New design for SMART SCS for on-load cleaning of incinerators, biomass and RDF fuelled stations Premiere showcase at POWER-GEN Europe 2012 Wesel, Germany - June 2012 The know-how behind over 200 installations has been consolidated to form the latest SMART SCS on-load boiler cleaning system. Using water, the SMART SCS cleans the underside of the boiler roof, the membrane walls and the plate heating surfaces of the furnace and empty passes. The water is applied within the boiler via a nozzle head that is mounted on a temperature resistant metal hose. It is often very difficult to mount such equipment on the boiler roof of incinerators, biomass and RDF fuelled plants due to a lack of space. The new design solves this problem through a new type of bearing and guiding for the metal hose. Through this, the on-load boiler cleaning system has compact dimensions which are also suitable for retrofitting. The metal hose is horizontally furled in a casing. On the interior of the casing, there is the newly-developed hose guidance. Resting on the top of the hose arrangement, the guiding roller equipped carousel ensures fault-free feeding of the metal hose into the boiler. This simplified motion sequence supports the frictionless drive of the hose. This also especially applies to curved guide tubes. A flange which is mounted at the end of the guide tube receives compressed air via a locking device to seal against the leakage of flue gas. After cleaning, the nozzle head is fully removed from the boiler. At the same time, the passing air dries and purges the metal hose from dirt. The developers were also keen to reduce the overall weight of the equipment. The revised design facilitates installation and servicing. The SMART SCS will be showcased for the first time at POWER-GEN Europe, the sector’s key trade fair, which this year takes place in June. Clyde Bergemann will be presenting a 3D animation of the SMART SCS in hall 7 on stand C146. Patent is pending for SMART SCS. |
