Clyde Bergemann Power Group braves new challenges at the VGB Congress in Salzburg Wesel/Germany, September 2007 Efficient power plant technologies are the main topic of this year’s VGB Congress and also in the research and development work of the Clyde Bergemann Power Group. As a worldwide acting supplier for power plant equipment, Clyde Bergemann involves more and more methods of process optimisation to design its systems. These systems are aiming at an optimized plant performance as well as increased efficiency and operational availability by means of an intelligent decision-making process where current process conditions are analysed and evaluated. Basis for this process intelligence is the continuous acquisition and interpretation of the performance data of the plant as well as data measured by sensors. Under the motto Brave new challenges. With a view into the future!”, the Clyde Bergemann Power Group presents new systems and solutions on the VGB Congress taking place in September. One example out of a range of new products is the thermodynamic modelling, which continuously determines all relevant process parameters of a single steam generator or a generating unit. So the actual process condition of the flue gas and steam part can be controlled reliably at any time. Among others, Clyde Bergemann uses this information source for its SmartClean ISB Platform in order to calculate location and intensity of slagging. This is the basis to decide when, where and how the cleaning of the furnace and the convection area should be done. Transformed into appropriate operating parameters, the cleaning systems are activated in that kind that the plant efficiency is preserved at the highest possible level and cleaning is optimally performed in the given process condition. The thermodynamic process analysis can be retrofitted and existing cleaning devices can be controlled. At the same time, this product is the first integration of technology from Endat Oy since the takeover of this company at the beginning of this year. DRYCON, the dry bottom ash handling system, will also be presented in Salzburg. With the use of fresh air instead of water, this new solution gains among others a better sales potential of bottom ash due to higher quality. DRYCON addionally utilizes the re-burning effect and therewith increases boiler efficiency. This solution as well has been created due to consideration of process engineering related interrelationships. The Clyde Bergemann Power Group is on booth E13. |
