Clyde Bergemann Power Group secures €12 million contract for air pollution control at Spanish power plant Doncaster/UK, April 2008 The €12 million turnkey project at the Enel Viesgo owned Puertollano Thermal Power Plant in Spain covers civils, design, fabrication, supply, installation and commissioning. Included in this contract will be a new electrostatic precipitator, refurbishment of two existing precipitators and demolition of two redundant precipitators. This investment in state-of-the art technology guarantees Enel Viesgo to meet changes in Spanish legislation which require the reduction of particulate emissions from the power station stack to less than 50 mg/Nm3. The contract has been awarded to the Air Pollution Control Division of Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling Limited in the UK, a company of the Clyde Bergemann Power Group. Jonathan Whitehouse, Air Pollution Control Sales Manager commented: Our solution offers Enel Viesgo a 50% reduction in boiler downtime as much of the new build work and preparations for the refurbishment and demolition work can be completed whilst the plant is operational. This provides significant operating savings for Enel Viesgo.” All works will be completed and the plant returned to service during November 2008. |
